FAQ

GENERAL

When should I arrive for my appointment?

Please arrive 5-10 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment. We require new clients to fill out a brief medical history/consent form prior to receiving any services.

What is your cancellation policy?

At Bare, we are eager to meet your scheduling needs. In doing so, we have a 24 hour cancellation policy. ALL appointments require a credit card authorization upon booking. If your appointment is not cancelled before the specified time, you will be charged 25% of the services you booked. Thank you for your understanding and consideration regarding this matter.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Cash, as well as all major credit cards. MasterCard, Visa, AMEX and Venmo.

What if I’m running late to my appointment?

We ask that you arrive at least 5 minutes early but we understand that life/traffic can be unpredictable. However, please note, all treatments must end on time regardless of the start time in order to accommodate client booked after you.

FACIALS

It’s my first facial, what should I book?

Bare Faced – #NOMAKEUP is perfect for your first facial! This facial focuses on exfoliating dead skin and removing unwanted blackheads, leaving you with a bright, glowing complexion.

*Please Note: If you have a special event, we recommend coming in 3-4 days before prior to the event to allow time for the skin to settle.

Can I get a facial if I’m pregnant or nursing?

Of course! We provide a safe, comfortable environment for pregnant/nursing mothers. Beds are bolstered and you’ll be propped up in a very comfortable position for the duration of your facial. Products safe for pregnant/nursing mothers will be used. Please inform your facialist prior to your appointment if you’re pregnant/nursing.

What if I have allergies?

Please notify your facialist of ALL allergies prior to receiving any treatments to ensure your safety at all times.

Should men shave before a facial?

Shaving is not mandatory, however, please be advised areas with a thick beard can’t be treated;  stubble is okay.

How often should I come in for a facial?

This depends on the results you’d like to achieve with your skin. It is typically recommended to receive facials every 4-6 weeks to maintain a glowing, “bare-faced” complexion.

Can I arrive with makeup on for my facial appointment?

Yes, but remember, it will be removed in order to receive your treatment.

WAXING

How long does my hair have to be prior to my wax appointment?

Not too long but not too short either. About half an inch. Think in terms of a grain of rice.

What if I recently shaved?

We recommend letting your hair grow 3-4 weeks after your previous wax and/or shaving for the best results.

Can I get a Brazilian wax while I’m on my period?

You may still be waxed while you’re on your period if you wear tampons. If you only wear pads, your appointment must be rescheduled for sanitary purposes.

What kind of wax do you use?

For body hair, such as brows, arms, legs (think “thin hair”), we use soft wax. For course hair, such as the bikini area, men’s chest/back, we use hard wax.

What’s the difference between soft wax and hard wax?

Soft wax requires a muslin strip in order to remove the hair/wax from the skin. Whereas hard wax requires no strip, the wax acts as the strip.

What is a bikini wax?

The bikini wax removes what typically sticks out of a traditional pair of panties or swimsuit.

What is a tight-kini?

The tight-kini goes deeper into the panty line removing slightly more hair than your typical bikini wax.

What is a Brazilian?

With this service, all of the hair in the bikini area will be removed. You can also opt to leave a triangle or “landing strip” if that is your preference.

What is a Brazilian+?

Similar to the Brazilian but will also include your backside or rectum area.

How do I avoid ingrown hairs?

Exfoliation is key! Recommended manual exfoliation (scrub) 2-3x a week.

LASH

What Are Eyelash Extensions?

Eyelash Extensions are individual strands of silk fibers made to replicate a natural eyelash. When applied, eyelash extensions lengthen and thicken your own natural eyelashes. The single strands are applied to each individual eyelash, one by one. With proper application, lash extensions look and feel completely natural.

How long will a set of Eyelash Extensions last?

When applied by professionals, eyelash extensions will last the length of the natural growth cycle of your own eyelashes. Depending on your activity and day-to-day routine, refills should only be required every 2 to 4 weeks.

Are eyelash extensions safe?

B A R E . only uses professional grade adhesive which never comes in contact with your skin. Synthetic eyelashes adhere about 1mm away from your skin.

Can I apply mascara to Eyelash Extensions?

Our eyelash extensions are designed to give your natural lashes an improved look of fullness so mascara is not needed.

Can I swim, shower, exercise, or visit a spa while wearing eyelash extensions?

We do ask you to minimize the chance of wetting the extensions for the first 24 hours of wear. After that 24-hour period, the adhesive used to apply your eyelash extensions is secure enough to allow you to get right back to your routine. However, keeping away from extensive contact with steam such as in saunas or certain facials is recommended since it can begin to loosen the bond.

How do I choose the look I want?

Your technician will consult with you to understand what type of style you are interested in and what look will work best with your natural lashes. The overall look of the lashes can range from very natural to very voluminous!

What happens if I choose to have my eyelash extensions removed?

We do offer a service to have the extensions removed involving a short thirty-minute appointment in which we apply a gel remover. The gel remover is applied on top of the extensions without touching the skin and allowed to sit for 10 minutes. Once the adhesive is dissolved the extensions are gently wiped away with lint free applicators exposing the natural lashes.
